New England, Circa 1825 This rare and elegant larger sized box is perfect for sewing or painting/writing implements (this is how it would have been used by women in Federal America) or for larger jewelry collections that overwhelm smaller boxes. The box shown is made with figured cherry; this box is also available in satinwood, mahogany, tiger maple, and other woods. The hinged lid (with period lock) opens to a velvet-lined, sectioned tray. The tray lifts to reveal a velvet-lined well with three larger sections. |

As with all of our boxes, wood-grain is carefully matched and the surfaces lightly hand-planed to give the figured woods exceptional depth and clarity. The box is then finished and hand-rubbed to a satin glow. Approx. 15 x 15 x 4" tall. $425.00, plus shipping and sales tax, if applicable. |
