Rural New England circa 1815 This unassuming but delightful little table is well proportioned and is made of richly figured tiger-maple. A nice beaded detail around the top and drawer-front enlivens the simple lines. Drawer dovetails are hand-cut, drawer bottom is made of aromatic cedar, and authentic period construction is used throughout. A separate slide below the drawer supports a sewing bag. The final surfaces are hand-planed for a crisp clarity and the table is finished with our own dyes and shellacs, top-coated with lacquer for added durability, all rubbed to a warm glow. Hardware is simple antiqued brass. Available in other woods (cherry is quite nice!) $895.00 plus shipping and sales tax, if applicable. Sewing bag, in your choice of fabrics, is extra. |
