Boston or Salem, circa 1800 Our award-winning work table has been featured in Early American Homes magazine. It has a satinwood carcass and a shaped mahogany top inlaid with a satinwood medallion. Delicate legs are turned from figured satinwood, with ball feet and ring-cuffed ankles. The carcass and legs are unified with a continuous, hand-shaped, triple-bead molding. The tops of the legs are inlaid with figured mahogany panels. |

Drawer dovetails are hand-cut with our characteristic bold steep angle; drawer sides and back are solid poplar. The drawer bottom is aromatic cedar; our mark is hand-carved in it. Brass hardware is hand-cast from antique originals and features a lion's head motif and detailed backplate; a classic Boston/Salem motif from this period.

| The drawer lock is reproduced from period locks, and the keyhole escutcheon is an inlaid mahogany oval. All the inlays are accentuated with a double inlayed stringing. Final surfaces are then hand-planed and the table is finished with our own warm, traditional orange shellac and a lacquer top-coat for added durability. The table is then hand-rubbed to a mellow satin glow. Also available in tiger maple (has a somewhat less formal effect that is also very pleasing). Approx. 29 7/8"H, 20"W, 15"D. $2,200.00 plus shipping and sales tax, if applicable. |
