Sabre-leg Federal Sewing Table
Send your order request online

Boston, Circa 1810
This award-winning table is a symphony of interconnecting curves and is a very rare Federal form. Deliciously delicate, almost ethereal, our sabre-leg sewing table is inspired by a piece made in Boston by Vose and Cotes, now at Winterthur. The lid, carcass, legs and gently curving stretchers are inlaid with ebony stringing, and the key escutcheon is a shield-shaped inlay of ebony. The hinged-lid opens to a sectioned tray, which lifts to reveal the sewing bag.

An aromatic-cedar tray bottom and bag liner jealously guard work-in-progress from moths, and a period lock secures your best sewing implements. Available in satinwood, birds-eye maple, plum-pudding mahogany, or tiger maple. Approx. 15 1/2" x 20" x 29 1/2" tall. $1,895.00 plus shipping and sales tax, if applicable. Sewing bag, in your choice of fabric, is extra.
